That's correct. I should have been more clear that the bonus rate is locked in and the base rate can change.
In my case, the bonus rate was 2.3% and .1% base rate. If the base rate goes to 0% I'm guaranteed 2.3% for the 120 days.

CIBC has been dropping the bonus rate recently. The base rate doesn't have further to drop.... .05% perhaps?

Mafia Investment Corps, where they charge a loanshark (legally speaking usury) interest rate for subprime mortgage clients like the clients who have to use Payday Loans of 19.99%. I used to defend and prosecute these mob bosses in courts lol

Sucks big time as I moved to EQ on Monday from Tangerine as my promo was ending (from 2.7% to 0.2%).
I will stay now that I have moved, will see if Tangerine offers something in the future.

Yeah, I know people losing their shirts on these currently.

For those looking to park money for the short term (~1-6 months) would this be the best offer available currently? Now that eq dropped their rates.

Only for the bonus part, but that's most of it. The base rate is now down to 0.05%.

Yes, but changed (+/-) bonus rate is only applicable for new customers and base rate change gets applied to all... Also, if you have already subscribed to any promo rate, it would remain same for the entire period.
