A little late on this but I’m planning to sign up today.

1) There’s no minimum on the PADS? Didn’t see anything.
2) To waive fee, it’s min $3000 AND 2 monthly PAD/ 1 direct deposit?

TIA

Applied today, will need to contact them to make sure that the $300.00 promotion is applied. It kept redirecting me to an inferior promotion.

Hope it works!

Can you do this on mobile phone? Verification comes to your email? Or should use a computer?

I was able to do everything online. No branch visit was required.

I did everything online from my computer. I already have other products with CIBC (Line of credit and credit card) so they have me on file and it was easy to complete as I just signed into my account.

Looks like promo's been extended to Nov 30 but with $350 now.

The $300 offer has been extended until the end of November, but the $50 bonus ($350 welcome offer) is only applicable to accounts opened ONLINE from Oct 1-Oct 30. (D'oh, guess it would've paid to procrastinate...)

Has anyone been paid their CIBC $300 bonus, using CTFS (paying from a bank account) as one of their recurring pre-auth pymts?

Got the email that I have been expecting:
Hello angel_wing0,

Getting $300 and saving on fees is a win-win. Soon you’ll receive $300 deposited in your CIBC Smart Account. You’ll also continue to receive the monthly account fee rebate for the next nine months* on your Smart Account as long as you maintain at least one direct deposit OR two pre‑authorized debits each month.
Hurray!!

So if my very first service charge was dated September 30, 2020 (including the rebate), that means I need to close it before September 30, 2021, right?

Also, I used Telus and Fido for my PADs. That would work, right?

Thanks!

Me too!
I’m excited no follow up was required!

I have yet to contact CIBC for any reason since signing up for this account, other than to confirm the $300 promo initially. Everything was done online. I’ve never even been inside my home branch lol. Pretty impressive & way smoother than Scotiabank.

If I didn’t already have a free premium bank account elsewhere, I’d consider switching my main account over to this.
