[CIBC] Get 25% more when redeeming points for grocery purchases

Redeem points for credit and receive 25% more when its a grocery purchase.

Regular rate is
4000 = $25
8000 = $50
16000 = $100
24000 = $150

I dont have an eligible transaction but if someone else does, please post the rate here so I can update.

Good time to liquidate if anyone else has been hoarding points like me for travel and 2020 happened :(

I had 5,000 points to spend and couldn't find anything decent to spend them on. I found an offer for a $50 Chevron gas card for 5,000 points which seems to be a much better value than anything else offered including this promotion.

I gave up on all reward cards. Especially CIBC

I started with Aeroplan and after 7 years realized it was a rip off unless you use it for short flights. Switched to the CIBC Aventura card which was better but after a few years realized it was also a rip off because I can find flights online cheaper than CIBC using their points.

Now I just go with cash back. It doesn’t have the highest return rate, but it is the best option.
