CIBC Premium Edge

hello does Premium Edge offer any preferred interest rates or fx rates? what about trading commissions?

Looking to revive this thread and see if anything has changed in the last 3 years? Has anyone had luck negotiating with CIBC on margin rates, trade commissions, etc?

No change, in fact I would say the imperial service is less than what it used to be. Now that they offer a smart plus account package, it is better to go with investors edge to keep the fees to a minimum.

Has to provide more perks. IB provides all that with $1-ish commission less than $5K asset.

100k in a CIBC account gives you free premium banking/credit card as well tho. So for me...a low volume trader- If I could get the margin rates down I would consider a switch.

I see. Good info. Well I have TD and IB. For TD (everyday banking), $5K gives you free highest tier chequing account + free credit card (annual fee waived up to $100). For investment, I use IB. Moving money is not an issue because it takes about 2 business days, which is not too bad for my situation.

I would actually love some discount on mortgage rate or HELOC rate discount though for big banks premium account holders though.

On $1million in a brokerage, I'd rather switch to HSBC InvestDirect. Then you qualify for HSBC Jade
