Damn, I wish I knew about the Harry Potter screening. As much as I love classic films, Citizen Kane is a really slow movie.

The first time I saw Citizen Kane I had already watched the first 12 seasons of the Simpsons. It felt like I had already watched it before since the Simpsons references it so much.

"#CitizenKane returns to the big screen for its 80th Anniversary"

Is the movie 80 years old? I am confused.

According to Google, Citizen Kane was initially released in 1941.

To answer your question, yes, this would be its 80th anniversary.

If you live in a city please also consider supporting a local second run/revival house theatre. Always a much better crowd from my experience:

In Toronto for example:

The Revue - https://revuecinema.ca/schedule/
The Fox - https://www.foxtheatre.ca/schedule/
The Kingsway - http://kingswaymovies.ca/index.html
The Royal (temporarily closed) - https://www.theroyal.to/
Paradise Theatre - https://paradiseonbloor.com/

People have had some varying experiences with this place. To say the owner is eccentric is putting it quite mildly. Very strict about outside food/drinks.

You must leave your bag with them . Many don't like that. Read the reviews.

I agree.

film.ca in Oakville is struggling to survive. I have gone 2X so far, hoping to go again this weekend.

Or do people buy the cheap ticket and watch another movie instead?

There hasn't been one here in ages. The last one closed down decades ago and the Film Society mostly shows foreign films, not classics or even foreign classics. Only way out would be to watch them at my bud's house with his laser projector and 120" screen.

I used to take the kids to the Saturday @11am for $2.99. Now they go on Netflix and watch. Not worth $6.99 for one movie.

⬆ Could you post with many dates instead of every day for the same movie? :)

Dirty Harry Nov 4-5-6-7-8-9

Then another post:
Next movie Nov 10-11-12-13

Thanks!

Not sure if "Unforgiven (1992)" was a part of this, but I got to see it for the first time @ the Yonge-Dundas location.

Pretty great deal for $6.99!

Those are two very different movies... what is next, Clockwork Orange and 3 Men and a Baby? Deliverance and The Notebook?
