Cisco DPC3825 use as router only?

I have an old and hardly used Cisco DPC3825. I was wondering if I could use this as a router/wifi extender as it's just sitting there doing nothing for me.

Online research has only shown this used as a cable modem - bridged mode or access point. I can't use it as a cable modem as I already have one.

Is this a recycle item now?

Yeah, this unit was rubbish back in 2012. Time to say goodbye.
