First time goer. How early should I get there?

It starts at 12:30 and looking to watch around Yonge/Bloor for washroom/warmth/subway access for my kid. Is 10:00 early enough to get a curb spot?

My mom lives right by Christie station (last year's parade route). Some people are seriously staking out spots around 8AM if not sooner. Some bring elaborate seating setups, or scaffolding for elevated seating.
