I've also used the galaxy ace that came from Cityfone with Sim cards from other Rogers resellers like Petro Canada mobile and 7-11 Speakout without unlocking the phone. I suspect the newer phones would also work with all the Rogers reseller Sim cards.

The promotion is scheduled to end Jan. 31 but there is a rumour that it may get extended to February 28 - the extension is apparently not approved

Zoomer Wireless $54 plan
- 2GB LTE data
- 600 Canada Wide Minutes, Unlimited incoming, unlimited after 6pm and weekend
- unlimited text MMS (Canada & International)
- $99 Samsung Galaxy S4 - 2 year contract
- Data overage charge is reasonable and is by 1MB increment - 2 cents/1MB.
It is not like the big 3 by 500MB or 1GB increment. I was over 74MB on the
first partial month and I was charged $1.48.

Zoomer Wireless is a reseller on Rogers Network
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Public Mobile $36 5GB, $12 250MB, 2x $6 50min/50text, Fido $5 4GB data only plan with a free tablet,
Zoomer $36 loyalty 4GB plan, $0 FPL home phone. Have a better and better day!

How does the core lte compare to the iphone 4 and 4s? My kids and hubby's iphones are starting to show their age. I am contemplating leaving telus and signing up with zoomer but am wondering whether we would be satisfied with the core phones. Also, if I decided to keep an iphone and sell the core, would I have to get it unlocked?

The core is a basic smartphone. The screen is OK nothing special and the performance lacks in some areas. If you want a considerably better experience the S4 for $99 is a better choice.
