Some pretty good deals there. Too bad Scarpa isn't part of the sale.

Really excited when I saw it.

Bought myself a starter trad rack (cams and nuts NEVER go on sale). Really great deals.

Note: MEC Price Matches if Climb On doesn't have it in stock.

Hi everyone completely new to bouldering. Any thoughts on good value bouldering entry-level shoes? I heard scarpa is a good brand, any others?

Scarpa, La Sportiva, Evolv, Five Ten... all great shoe brands. Depends on

1. Your foot shape
2. Price point

Would recommend trying shoes on at MEC/SAIL if you can, then buying online. Otherwise you'll do a buy/try/return loop like me when I first started. :)

I wear Scarpa Force Vs - they're incredibly comfortable.

Every person's foot is different. What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for you. For example, I know a lot of people who swears by La Sportiva Solution, but for me, they're way too loose at the heel. I love the Scarpa Instict VS, but it's much too tight for others. Your best bet is to try on a bunch of shoes at MEC and see what works for you. Don't worry about brands until you get better and want to look for something a little more specialized (ie: aggressive and hard downturn for toeing and edge work, or soft for smearing, etc)

Thanks. They don't have my preferred show (Instinct VS), but it's nice to know of another site that sells climbing gear.
