Closing on a new house

Hi all,

This is our first house purchase and we’re closing Thurs Oct 1. Anyone have any idea what time we could approximately expect to receive our keys?

Once all the money is transferred. Usually later in the day. Ask your lawyer.

I believe the normal times are either 5pm or noon.

Ask your agent or lawyer, that's why they get paid

We got our keys at around 4 or 5pm.

In Quebec, on closing day, at notary office, right after both parties signed all final papers, the key is handed to the buyer(new owner at that point)

That's interesting. In Ontario for my limited deals, all docs are signed a couple days before. Keys are giving to your own lawyer then as well. So the only thing that really changes hand on closing date is some paperwork and the bank's money.
