cn conductor

i'm currently at the interview stage for a conductor job, but after doing some research online i'm seeing a lot of negative and a only few positive reviews about the company, can anyone on here give me some honest feedback about the company and what to expect when i first start.

Had a relative that worked for CN as a conductor. Not sure if it's different now, but first several years it was constant laying off and being brought back until he was high enough on the seniority list where that would stop. No set shifts, all on-call (2 hours notice) and could even be called during the middle of the night. Basically have to be ready to come in at any moment's notice. Pretty decent pay though and you do get EI during those lay-off periods.

If you get this job, be ready to not have much of a life.
