CNN+ Streaming $2.99 USD/month for life

Price:
2.99
Savings:
50
I found this article and it seems like CNN will be offering their own streaming service at half price for the first 4 weeks (starting sometime this month) and the price is good for life.

Although, I’m not a big CNN fan (exception being their Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown series) I thought I’d share for those who have cable mainly to watch the news and might be interested.

This streaming service may require a VPN to be used.

I almost miss the days when i used to pay for one service that aggregated everything, ie cable :).
Now I have to keep track of individual digital subscriptions, streaming services, VPNs, usenets, and manage it all.... too much trouble....

Will this include the actual news or will it be their shows and documentary content?

Agreed, I just thought I’d share because 3USD per month seemed like a good value for a major news network.

Personally, I only watch Netflix and the news these days.

Whenever I turned on CNN, it was always news against TRUMP. Then, just BIDEN. Now, its Russia / Ukraine war. Where is the other news?

The network has unveiled a CNN+ service that will offer a blend of live and on-demand shows that are "separate and distinct" from existing TV coverage. It will debut sometime in the first quarter of 2022. CNN hasn't narrowed down the price, but lead executive Andrew Morse told Variety in an interview that there wouldn't be an ad-supported tier at launch.

The centerpiece, as you'd expect, will be the live material. CNN+ plans to offer eight to 12 hours of in-depth topical coverage and "lifestyle" material every day, with both veterans and newcomers at the helm. You'll also have chances to interact with anchors and experts in real-time discussions. This won't be a digital replica of CNN's usual news, then, but you may have reasons to tune in every day.

Personally, I just think news outlets in the US are too partisan and not reporting with a neutral stance.
I myself prefer our own CBC/CTV, also supplement with BBC and France24

Agreed, I don’t like the majority of their views either (I’m guessing downvotes are mainly political) but it’s news coverage and other content for less than 4 bucks a month.

Better than paying Bell or Rogers 40-50$ a month if all you’ll do is watch the news occasionally.

Wish they could do this for CP24

Grin ... I'm trying to determine whether that was sarcasm.
