I applied and got the response that they should contact me within 2 days. Is the application pending or can you reapply assuming they have problems with their website.

Has anyone that got the message of "We will contact you within 2 business days" after applying online had actually heard back from Coast Capital?

No. Haven't received the email with the debit card # yet and it's been over 30 mins since I completed all the steps and logged out.

does it matter whether the funding account is in my personal name?

my dad has free e-transfers, so i'd rather send the $105 from him

I believe it matters, my understanding has to come from same email address and first and last name being transferred.

A lot of people saying merchant must initiate the transfer ("pull" from Chequing to AMEX).

Is it confirmed that a PAD initiated from the chequing account ("push") will not work? Does anyone have an email/phone call from Coast with this information?
CCS phone support told me an online bill payment (i.e. “push”) wouldn’t count. Haven’t seen that specifically stated in writing, though “pre-authorized debit” usually refers to what you describe as a “pull”.

Why $105? I was only going to etransfer $5... to cover the membership fee :)

Why? Couldn’t you technically wait for your debut card to show up in the mail and then deposit cash at an ATM or in branch? No name attached to cash so why would it matter?

Min deposit to get the $50 for referral is $100. $5 covers the membership shares then that leaves at least $100 for x2 $50 PADs

i signed up for this on Monday and got the error message with the 2 business days response time. Do they just send another email once they've verified everything? I do not want to pick up any phone calls.

You need a minimum of $100 in your first deposit to get the $50 bonus but they take $5 off the top for membership dues making your first deposit only $95... Which is why you need $105 min if u want that referral bonus.
