Coke can exploded inside car, contents still frozen

Any tips to clean frozen Coke shrapnel from headliner? It's still frozen and hasn't melted yet, but I assume it'll get sticky and smelly when it warms up again, so I want to make sure its cleaned properly. Thanks

Sorry for your trouble. Scrape into a bucket and vacuum as much as you can when it's still solid. For the rest, heat and wipe as you go. If you have a portable steamer, that's the way to go. If you can remove the carpeting from your trunk, get it into a warm place and hose it down, let it dry, and re-install.

DO NOT SCRAPE IT!!!! Happened to a buddy when we lived at Lake Louise. As we were scraping it, it tore all of the vinyl, headliner and cloth upholstery we touched. The car was a 6 week old Subaru and we did a couple of grand worth of damage. He never did fix it, as it was too expensive.

Fair clarification and, by all means use your judgement and by scrape I meant more like squeegee with something that won't damage the headliner

We used window scrapers and the damage wasn't apparent until days later when temperatures moderated. Fortunately, most of the damage was in the back seat, where the six pack of Coke was. All six cans exploded and covered the entire back with 1-2 inches of frozen foam.

Stop listening to all the craziness. Pull the car in To a garage and get started cleaning it with a heat extractor like the bissel little green machine.

If it's still frozen, don't heat it up, vacuum as much as you can and clean up any remaining residue with a gentle cleaner.
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

You run the risk of ripping off or damaging the liner.

Trust me thaw it, dab the excess off then use a heat extractor. Go slow an don't over soak it or it might sag when it dries.

Ahh, I missed the part about the headliner and though it was just on the seats. Other answers make more sense now.

heat + shop vac. Then spray with water and shop vac again. Continue until you are satisfied.

honestly I'd just heat it with the heat of my hand wrapped in a wipe. warm your hand as needed but it makes sure that you get everything as it melts.

Get a rag and soak it in hot water and apply it on the frozen coke. Rinse and repeat.
