Which combo is best for my needs / wallet?

Looking for some advice. Currently, I have the current combo, Cobalt + TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum (Fee waived with the All-Inclusive Package) and I’m considering adding a Brim CC. Now, I’m not a devoted Aeroplan collector, I just use the Visa when Amex is not accepted, so very little usage, but when I travel, once a year, I use Air Canada, and when I make purchases and I find no promo in cashback sites I back off to the Aeroplan eStore + TD Visa to double the points, so I get some Aeroplan miles, although not so many.

So, knowing this, my question is: Would it be good if I switch to the Scotiabank Gold Amex to save a $120 annual fee with the Ultimate Package and then cancel the Cobalt and TD Visa? Would I end up saving/earning a little bit more or not? Does it worth the hassle or is also Scotia customer service as bad as they say?

Note: when deeming points for flights I was thinking about United since they earn Aeroplan miles, are cheaper than Air Canada, and also I’d avoid big taxes and fuel surcharges.

Thanks!

A+B. Rogers world elite and tangerine. Both offer cashback 1.75-2% but Rogers offer zero foreign transaction fees.

C. MBNA for gas+groceries 2% cashback, and

D. PC financial world elite for 3% in pc points at Loblaws group

All cards have ZERO ANNUAL FEE!

I understand, but I don't qualify for any WE, plus Tangerine CC is a lottery to get accepted, been denied already, and I don't want the headache of selecting only some categories. Either with any AMEX I can squeeze the 5x with gift cards at groceries and 3x / 2x, depending on which one (Plus extra perks/bonus of AMEX, in that regard they pay themselves, but I want to optimize according to what I need)

  1. Rogers. If OP can only get Plat, then nothing special. If WE, still getting devalued in a month. Customer service is abysmal (OP coming from AmEx and TD CT, both whose customer service is great and good IMO, and afaik most or all would agree better than Robbers customer service by a longshot). Robbers is not a no-FTF card. It charges 2.5%. as of next month will only give 3% on USD base earn rate on other currencies if WE and no forex accelerator if Plat
  2. Tangerine. Good for signups bonus. Only a keeper card if you put cellphone bill on that card as recurring (and hopefully paid little or nothing upfront, also on Tang card) to get 2%/mobile device protection/no-AF unique offering if you have the World card
  3. MBNA for BT's only! Heck, if you want 2% G&G, just use Tang
  4. Many here like the PCF WE (though OP said ineligible for WE cards). IMO the CTFS Down-pointing Red Triangle WE is a superior no-AF WE MC. Just buy your TP at CTC and call it a day

OP will have to make a judgement call. Current Cobalt + TD AP Plat/Inf offer decent customer service. Both are travel cards, and aside Cobalt I'd say travel cards are best for churning. OP might be better off with keeper cashback cards aside Cobalt. Could switch to BNS, but again huge sacrifice in customer service. At the end of the day, I propose a 3-4 keeper card deck (so does @liemhoho ). I'd still say Cobalt + Brim (basic) and try to get upgraded to CTFS Down-pointing Red Triangle WE by putting enough spend on their basic Down-pointing Red Trianglecard. This would be a simplistic three card combo for OP.
