Commission/exit fees on mutual funds

at this time, i am exploring options to move into DIY investment mode, I am trying to find out how much exit fees or penalties would i incur on moving out of mutual funds? also, i hv some mutual funds that are front loaded so how does the commission get calculated on those?

TIA for helping out.

All mutual funds are different so there is no point in trying to answer your question. Ask your broker or the salesperson that sold you the funds to calculate such fees for you. They are required to do so.

Congratulations for taking the first step.. i.e. thinking in that direction. I quit all my MFs last year and moved into the DIY world. Fortunately the MFs I had selected did not have exit loads and I had them over 90 days, so there was no fee charged.

The online brokerage I transferred to was happy to cover the transaction/administration fee that my previous bank charged. Just ask them. :-)
