What are some of the best PS4 games can I buy which regularly go or will go on sale for under $10 or $15 without PS+ in the next year or so? I own a PS3 so skipping the ones that are available on PS3. I plan to pick up maybe 10 or so of the better PS4 games once they're cheap enough and play them on a PS5, ideally quality over quantity. So far, I see these:

Titanfall 2
Dishonored 2
Yakuza 0
Dark Souls III
The Witcher 3
Shadow of Mordor (this does have a PS3 version but it's basically unplayable)
Nioh
Bloodborne
Horizon Zero Dawn

List of the best PS4 exclusives IMO:

cut and paste from the other topic but some of the list below have often been in the $10-20 range.

The Last of Us Remastered
Final Fantasy VII Remake
Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection (1080p @ 60 FPS compared to the PS3 720p/30fps)
Persona 5 Royal Edition / or just Persona 5 original release
Uncharted 4
Bloodborne
Ghost of Tsushima
Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition (recently ported to PC on EPIC Games store on PC but it is missing some details)
The Last of Us Part II
God of War
Street Fighter V Champion Edition (also on PC)
Spider-Man
Dragon's Crown Pro
God of War III Remastered
Detroit Become Human (also on Epic Games store now - PC)
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim (just received it)
Uncharted The Lost Legacy
Dreams
Tales of Berseria
Shadow of the Colossus Remake
Ratchet and Clank Reboot
Until Dawn
Heavy Rain

While I think Yakuza games are good I would not really recommend them over what is on the list already.
For games that are set in Japan, Persona 5, and Ghost of Tsushima are much better than any of the Yakuza games.

I would not recommend Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor. The world in that game is 99% bland, barren, deserted open space chasms and wastelands
with nothing to really look at. Games like Ghost of Tsushima really put it to shame.

PS5 at launch performance barometer:

Spider-Man remastered on PS5 (comes with the Miles Morales Ultimate Edition) is getting ray-tracing,
60 frames per second gameplay, redesigned character models and upgraded details. Load times will be
practically instant. Spider-Man Miles Morales on PS5 also has a 60 FPS mode. But only Miles Morales on PS4 gets a
free PS5 upgrade. For current owners of Spider-Man PS4 that get a PS5, it will run on PS5 via backwards
compatibility but it will not have any of the upgraded features of the Spiderman PS5 Remaster (60 FPS mode, upgraded
character models, and ray tracing).

For 3rd party software:

Devil May Cry V Special Edition on PS5 / XBox Series X announced features and performance:

Ray-tracing ON: 4K, 30 frames per second
Ray-tracing ON: 1080p, 60 frames per second
Ray-tracing OFF: 1080p, 120 frames per second.

Pumped for Demon's Souls remake on PS5:

Looks like the final game runs at 60 FPS and BluePoint actually was able to achieve a remarkable graphical leap in the remake over any
of FromSoftware's Dark Souls/Sekiro/Bloodborne games.

Also looking forward to Final Fantasy XVI because Tetsuro Nomura has no involvement in it at all.
Nomura made the Kingdom Hearts games a complete convoluted mess, and I did not like his character designs for
FF15 (where the main playable characters are all male and they looked like a J-Pop band).

Crash Bandicoot finally gets a direct sequel after two decades.
This time it is not made by Naughty Dog but Activision bought the rights to the character and it was dormant
for about 15-20 years.

Digital Foundry covers the analysis.
Crash 4 runs at 60 Frames per second on PS4 Pro and XBox One X only.
XBox One S and Regular PS4 runs it at an inconsistent unlocked framerate that varies in the 30s to 40s.

The game itself has an 85 average on metacritic:

Tl;dr CD Projekt Red has been overworking its employees and continues to abuse them through constant crunches (overtime).

No need to feel any remorse for that studio.
CD Project Red's developers are being crunched to get Cyberpunk 2077 out on time (they are behind schedule for the Nov 22nd release date) but:

- They are being paid for each hour of overtime (200% for working Saturdays as per Polish law)
- They are getting to split an estimated 50 million USD among all developers that work there directly.
(Their policy is to split 10% of the 2020 annual estimated profit among the staff that works there)

Smart business decision as we know remakes and remasters sell well. Makes sense for them to not have ps3, ps2 and ps15 backwards compatibility as there is a potential for future earnings.

Having said that, I still wish they still offered full BC with some upgrades like Xbox does. You can always do both.

Phil Spencer says the $ 7.5 billion purchase of the Zenimax studios, which includes Bethesda, etc. can be recuperated without ever
putting those games on Playstation.

https://www.pcgamer.com/phil-spencer-sa ... aystation/

Meanwhile Nintendo sets a new USA record by selling the most consoles for 22 consecutive months in a row.
At the start of March 2020, Nintendo was even selling over 800,000 Nintendo Switch units worldwide a week at that point,
until they could not keep up with manufacturing and demand.

It is very likely that Nintendo Switch outsells both the PS5 and XBox Series S/Series X combined
this holiday based on availability in stores alone.

Ghost of Tsushima is excellent. It is like Assassin's Creed but much better than any of them because the combat is much better
and there are many more options to how you approach most of the missions. I posted my impressions on page 118

I have not played the Ghost of Tsushima multiplayer yet since I am very close to the Final Fantasy VII Remake Platinum trophy
(beat the game on Hard mode, and the new optional bosses), but will get around to it next week.

Anyone have MP impressions on GoT?
c'mon get happy!
