Contact Prescription Question

I just got an eye exam at Costco and she said my prescription had changed from -4.25L -4.00R to -4.25L -4.25R. So my right eye prescription got stronger. So I take my prescription over to ther place in Costco where you buy contacts and he said my prescription translates for contacts to -4.00L -4.00R.

I looked at the guy like he had two heads.

Does this make any sense? How does my right guy getting worse, result in my left eye prescription getting weaker?

Your glasses prescription need to be adjusted for contact lens since there is no distance between lens and your eye with contact lens. This adjustment becomes significant only for sph power higher than 4.
So your glasses prescription of -4.25L -4.25R translates to -4.00L -4.00R for contacts.

That's correct. Usually the contact lens prescription will be a bit weaker in power.
