Convert Hotel points to AA Miles and get 25% bonus - no SPG

If anybody has orphaned hotel points (Marriott/Hilton/Best Western - but no SPG or Hyatt), American Airlines is having a promo for transferring points at a 25% bonus, no SPG though.

Hotel points usually convert to Airline miles at a 5:1 ratio, so this brings it up to 5:1.25 (some are slightly better)

What a pity no Spg point.
Simple is the best.

you can call United and ask to reinstate them if it hasn't been too long ago
if the fee is less than one cent a mile I would do it

I believe AA has eighteen month expiry activity, although could be 2 years
