Cops and Speeding tickets

What speeds have you guys been pulled over for doing on Hwy 400, 401 and 404? I usually do about 120 on the dot on the 404 and have never been pulled over, does it depend alot on the cop's definition of speeding? I have ran a radar a bunch of times at 110-120 and never had any problems so I just want to gauge what kind of speed raises red flags

Man, you're really good! The fastest I've done on that section at that time would be 21.3km/h

I once did over 220 km/h on the 407 from 404 to Markham Road. This was before the 150 km/h speed racing rules and was trying to keep up with an Aston Martin (it gunned it well past this I may add).

These days I just set a cruise control at 115 km/h and never have any issues.

I remember that Aston Martin. It was the same car that flew off the 407 into orphanage killing dozens.

Speed kills, thank god for 150 over law.

One time I accidently passed an OPP cruiser going 125, he/she didn't even bother to catch up to scan my plates.

I find that OPP patrolling Highway 400 are more lenient than those patrolling Highway 401 or 404. I was going 140 KM/H southbound on 400 near Highway 9 (newmarket) the cop was sitting at Canal Rd. like he usually does, all he did was flashed his lights to get me to slow down (didn't even bother to catch up). On 401, I have been pulled over.

From Toronto to Montreal on 401, I drove pass cops at just a tick under 125km/h and no problem so far...

It really depends on the cop... if he's anal, he can pull you over at 110 if he wants to.

But with the OPP whom I spoke to near Orangeville, at least for them, they don't care unless you go above 100 on a 80 and 125 on a 100.

I certainly hope so, the 25 over ticket is worth more to the province than 10-16 over. :D

Considering how severely he was clowned you'd think he would just go BK and be done with it ...

Would of been 1yr left on his credit bureau.

They made the right decision to suspend him 6 years. Your buddy drive w/o any responsibility. No insurance? what it he hit some one's property? Kill someone. He will go bankupt if vicitims sue him to pay for the loss.

If you still keep in touch with him, make sure he doesn't drive again in that 6 years.

Why even ask?
If you are travelling at 120 and never been pulled, isn't it safe to assume that police is stopping those who go faster?

I know....

According to the MTO in 2004, no one died in Ontario, in a collision where the car was found to travelling in excess 150 km/h.

Just think of all the collisions in the past three years, where someone died, where they were found to be travelling in in excess of the 50 km/h over the posted limit. Wait can you think of any collisions like that

It's crazy how many people have been dying from driving 50 km/h in those three year's, that the government had to pass these new laws. Right? ;)

I know the 404 stretch just north of Don Mills is regularly patrolled. There's always someone pulled over. But again it depends of traffic.

From what I can tell typically if you're noticably quicker than other cars and you show up on radar they will pull you over. DVP northbound in mornings (before traffic) is typically 120kmh.

Once just for the sheer idiocy and mostly to annoy certain factions of RFD I took it up to probably the 230 range for about a second or two just past Don Mills (and about 10 seconds before the radar installation). Car had some work done so it was partly unexpected.

Rarely see anyone pulled over on the 401 (at least in the downtown areas).

There was a period for a few weeks during December where I saw alot cars pulled over on the DVP from the stretch of Adelaide to Eglinton though I haven't seen it for awhile. I've always wondered where the cops hide on the DVP below Lawrence.
