[Costco] 3M - Filtrete Furnace Filters, 6-pack 79.99 delivered

The warehouse only carries 16 x 25 x 1 so it's good price for these filters especially if you need another size.
sorry if it is duplicate

You can get mirv 8 1 in filters for $5 each every day at Canadian Tire.

I checked the sites mentioned above, they are cheaper but they are MERV 11 and MERV 8.
Costco: 1500 microparticle performance rating (MPR) = MERV 13
it depends on your preferences...

Yes and ensure your furnace can handle the MERV 13 and higher or you will not reap the benefits and have to replace your blower a lot earlier than expected.

3M filters, even on sale, feel expensive. An equivalent filter to MPR 1500, like Nordic Merv 12, does the same job for cheaper without a sale.

Edit: Found a Merv 13 which is similar in price to Nordic and cheaper than Filtrete.

Using high MIRV is very questionable, as it's going to add much more resistance and increase load on your blower motor, especially as it clogs up and especially on a 1in filter. I would never go higher than MIRV 8 on 1in. If you want high filtration go for for a 4 or 5in filter.
Not to mention 3m's BS MPR rating. Definitely not worth the money.

Thanks for that link.
This is something I've never really delved into, mainly because all my furnaces have been near the end of their lifespans, and I never really gave it much thought. Just slap a cheapo in there to keep the crap off the blower...
I just had a new furnace installed, so my interest has been piqued. (I know, I know; indoor air quality yadda, yadda...) Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes
