Costco Grocery Surcharge ($3.00) will apply to orders of $75 or less before tax ($75 order minimum applies to Costco Grocery items only, NOT the total order value)

Don’t know if this is a pricing error but it’s a great deal if it ships as 473 ml
$19.99 in store actually, it been that low for a long time now. Lowest I seen is $18.99 few months ago. Highest been $38.99 if I stand correct. Shipping fees for Costco grocery kills the deal for me.

OP should put "Costco.ca" in title

It's been around 18-19.99 in warehouse on and off for 6-9 months. But of course 17.98 is even better!

Man I paid 29.99 last week in store. I've been eyeing it for a while now and never saw it go to 19.99.

I changed the postal code for delivery estimation to something more local to me, and it gave the option to Add to Cart. I placed an order succesfully.

Much better than 39.99 at the height of vanilla shortage. Maybe it was even more. Only product going down right now.

LOL "the height of the vanilla shortage". Always shortages to be made up in some place, for $$$.

The organic one is $29.99 - some warehouses only stock that SKU and not the one in the OP.

$40 was the price 2 years ago. It has since drop to $30 and now $20. It's a $2 savings over the regular in store price.

Ah good to know, I'll compare sku to what I bought. Thanks.

The prices were insane for a couple of years, and now coming down to earth. I remember in a resort trip to Dominican Republic just before Covid, we bought big bottles (think it was 700-800ml) for US$4/ea, and small 250ml bottles for $1-2. Fortunately we bought many at that time to our family and relatives for a while.

During the pandemic craze, one place with good pricing was JonVince, but it's only one store in Toronto near Dufferin/Finch.

FWIW most of the cheap vanilla you'll find in the Caribbean is not pure vanilla. At best it's imitation vanilla and at worst it's potentially dangerous (e.g. https://abcnews.go.com/Health/Healthday ... 423&page=1). Given that the price spike was due to a temporary shortage in the commodity itself (i.e. the vanilla bean), it's extremely unlikely that there would have been places selling the real thing for significantly less than market value regardless of which country you were in.

Did you read I said pre-Covid, and from Dominican Republic? The article you quoted is for Mexico.

We got it at supermarket (after diving, then walked around) where the common people shopped, not tourisy area. Nobody got sick or died from using those vanilla extracts.

The Vanilla beans (5 pack) have come right down in price as well.

Zero extra cost if you pick it up next time you go there anyway.

Any guidance on how to find the product in the warehouse? I have been going to Costco for 2 years and still spend close to 20 mins inside the warehouse if am looking for something particular, not to mention additional spending of $50 in those 20 mins while hunting for the required item.
