[Costco] 50 Pack of Honeywell N95 Masks $44.99 ($0.90/Mask)

Seems like a return to work is becoming more common for the office dwellers I've spoken to, so this is timely.

Discounted by $10 per box, works out to $0.90/mask. Free shipping and I wasn't charged tax in Ont.

With Ontario lifting C19 requirements, look for more deals.

Masks may be on the way out sooner than expected.

Deal definitely isn't for everyone, but useful for those who wish to protect themselves, even when mask mandates are lifted. Covid will still exist, but it'll be a personal choice then :)

Even with mask restrictions easing, family and me will still be wearing them when we're out and about. I spent a couple of weeks down in the states a month ago for work and wore these honeywell masks for 12 hours+ each day. Very comfortable.

lol some dummy in the reviews was upset that the straps aren't loops around the ears. DUH, they're N95s. They aren't supposed to be ear loops.

Do you just go up the counter with your email receipt and they adjust it or can you do it online?

I do not know how good these "Honeywell" are so you have to do your own research to see where they are made and what certification they pass.....

But......if they are good.....

Buy them and keep them in stock. The filter material does NOT age but the rubber bands do. I have "expired" 3M Aura from a decade ago and about one in every ten band breaks. Considering the price at the time, that's tiny loss.

Covid restriction may have ended but covid will still be around for a long time.

Just for the record, when I had my business, I bought hundreds of thousands of masks and was normal for me to clean out "out of date" masks by the tens of thousands. I even had my own rudimentary testing rig to test out Chinese masks. Most Chinese "n95" failed. 3M NEVER failed.

Most people simply are ignorant on how masks work...even after this pandemic. N95 work by sealing on the face and particularly around the nose bridge area. Ear loops are simply not strong enough and if they were, they would cut into the ears.

Whatever...I'm sick and tired of ignorant people wearing their mask like fashion accessories. So now I smirk at their ignorance instead of concern about their health.

As long as they are NIOSH approved, they are fine. The biggest thing is ensuring they fit properly. Although N95s are one size, not all N95s will fit the same. If the N95 doesn't provide a proper seal, it won't provide you with adequate protection.

RFD has so many people who has lot to share on masks. I think we need separate thread in shopping discussion section so that all that knowledge can be consolidated in one place.

I bought these when they were available a couple months ago. Maybe its just my big head ( I don't think is mutch bigger than average), but I have to be super duper careful to be as gentle as possible, otherwise the bottom band rips put out the mask. Also it is a bit tight on the bridge of my nose after wearing about an hour. Seal is good though, my glasses don't fog up.

"Tightness" is good. The fact that your glasses don't fog up is proof of the seal.

Back in the day, my female employees complained to which I responded "can we talk about those marks tomorrow morning". Of course they were gone in a few hours.

I developed a 3D printed mask that my wife wears. I had to hide the first time she wore it because her nose bridge area looked like it had a knife cut. Now, she knows it's gone in few hours and that is the end of life as we know it "crisis".

BTW...nurses actually use two sided tape to seal that area.

True. That's why 3M developed the Aura. Much better then the old cup design. Of course the Chinese knocked it off.

What kind of tape do they use? I'm having trouble getting a good seal below the chin.

I'm not diminishing this deal, but pointing to more forthcoming deals.

Some of my staff will continue wearing masks after COVID.

I'm looking forward to the deals during this period.

Hot melt....Face With Stuck-out Tongue And Tightly-closed Eyes

I don't know. I know they use it but I don't know where they get it. It's also likely to be an expensive solution.

There are basically 3 types of n95 mask designs. The center fold ones, the classic cup and the three fold Aura. The Aura is by far the easiest to fit but it's expensive unless you buy knock offs. The center one is the least accommodating so try the classic cup. There isn't a "standard" cup design so try a few and see if one fits. There is also the horizontal fold ones that may be better for you.

There are some questions about masks in this thread.

Unfortunately for the people who got COVID this wave, immunity against the virus is temporary, so they can get it again. Hopefully the next generation of vaccines this year will crush Omicron. In any case, if you don't want to get sick, masks are available now to filter virus particles out of the air before they infect you in the first place. Masks like this N95 will catch almost everything in the filter. The 95% refers to the worst case scenario, so it's actually much better performance than 95%. Only leaks around the outside will bring that number down. Try to find a mask that fits your face comfortably.
