Unless you need the other components is buying a pre-built still the way to go in order to get a card? Seems like they are becoming more available recently but could be wrong.

Girlfriend bought this one and satisfied with it. IMO it runs a bit noisy and hot compared to mine but still does a good job.

A friend bought it and said it's noisy and hot. Performance degrades significantly after an hour or so due to poor cooling and high temps.

There's an abundance of cards available at the local Canada Computers and Memory Express stores.
If you don't live near any of those stores, check Best Buy online and Newegg.

Are the components standard? Maybe transplanting the innards into a new case like the Corsair 4000D would fix the thermal / noise issue.

The Dell XPS 8940 was a better deal, although crappier cooling, it was the i7-11700 for $150 less than this.

This is actually not bad if you are planning to get a gaming pc. Just the card alone will cost you about 900 with tax.

Same exact build and price as it was in October (there is a thread on RFD). Basically you are getting older and older tech for the same price. Sadly, there isn't an alternative.

Who knows, maybe now that AMD/NVIDIA can't ship to Russian cryptominers there is going to be more supply at MSRP but that is mostly wishful thinking.

It's been at this price since last fall.

For people who thinking about just lifting the GPU out and their return... it's been done before and Costco knows about it. They've been burned many times of course since they got very lax policies but that changes when these are $1600 returns.

My siblings work at Costco and have been specifically told in an e-mail and meetings to check for the GPU when processing returns on these. It's not that hard to check either if the GPU is missing.

Imagine you trying this and you get called out in front of everyone... I don't know how you can feign ignorance at that point. Not sure if they'll pull lost prevention on you but they can ban you and be put to shame in front of waiting customers lol.

I bought this on Valentine's and still waiting for shipment.

Do I need to do anything about cooling? It's going to be in the basement, where it's naturally cooler, will that be sufficient?

Also, I did 2 x 8gb sticks instead of 1 x 16gb stick. That's good right?

OEM dell CPU cooler is not great, subpar really. I would buy $40 veetro or $70 noctrua. Also, order vrm heatsink for $2 from dell using dell $.

Heh, managed to get an EVGA 3060 XC last week but it was $589. Still given the shortage seemed like a decent price.

I'd prob pass on this package unless you're really dead set against building a pc and cant get a GPU. BB seems to be dropping stock often now.

If you have been waiting for a few months, a newegg / CC bundle would be better and you could have made back the extra you paid with mining, probably even more than that.

I know some folks who have been waiting since January 2021 for a 3060ti FE for msrp and they had chances to get a 3070 for $400 more from CC but declined. Meanwhile my 3070 from newegg PSU bundle has been paid off with extra to fund the rest of the parts and I don’t have to mine more if I don’t want to.

An abundance of overpriced cards.

The cheapest 3070ti I've seen at CC is 1310$ after ON Taxes....

A 3070tI isn't that much faster than a 3060ti

Asus Tuf 70ti was $989 from Newegg earlier today.
If you're comparing AIB prices to FE, than you can wait forever.
