[Costco] Active Dry Yeast 908g $4.99

Are we still baking at home?
Costco sells Active Dry Yeast. 400/7 Vaughan location
Which is slightly different than Instant Yeast but does the same thing.
Active dry yeast needs to be dissolved in water before using, while instant yeast can be mixed right into dry ingredients.

Whoa that's good price.

There should be TP sales soon, since most people with stockpiles won't need to buy more any time soon.

Costco has sold this brand and size of yeast for a while. Really good price and much more yeast than the average household can use. :) Good for sharing!

I bought this yeast about 2 years ago, stuck it in the freezer and still good till now. Always been at this price and best price out of all grocers I've shopped at.

I randomly walked down the flour aisle a few weeks ago at Costco, tonnes of whole wheat flour left (no white, though) - 10kg and 20kg bags. I picked up a 10kg bag (not Robin Hood) for I think $7.50.

My local RCSS has cakes of this yeast, 454 g for $2.48. Available by asking at the bakery counter. Try an on-line search for your Loblaw owned stores.

Haven't tried my purchase yet but am wondering how tricky it is to measure out the equivalent of 1/2 a teaspoon of the truly dry stuff.

A few dozen available in the baking supplies aisle. I grabbed two without a fuss. Good luck!

Costco has 10kg bags of whole wheat flour. Saw lots left at Thorncliffe when I went a couple of days ago. Can’t remember what brand it is tho, I decanted mine into individual ziploc bags already to store them in the freezer. Face With Tears Of Joy It’s been pretty good for my bread making, although they’ve been no knead breads.

What is it about yeast and toilet paper that is so hard to fine now? Nobody eats bread anymore so nobody needs yeast but yet they buy it
