[Costco] All-clad D5 10 piece set Winnipeg $699.99, YCMV

Hi everyone,
I went to the Winnipeg South Costco today, and found the All-Clad D5 Brushed 10 piece for $699.99. Your Costco May Vary!
This is a pricey set, but it is very well reviewed. Yes there are cheaper sets available, yes sometimes buying individually you can get more of what you want. But for someone looking for a high-end stainless steel set and they are going to use everything in this set, it seems like a really good deal.

That's a good price. I think I paid ~$899 for the same set. I only use the large stock pot and the two saucepans, so it would have been nice to get it for less than I paid.

What’s wrong with Canadian tire ones? They are always on sale there.

That’s a great deal. I spent a whole day shopping for cookware. This is one of the the best sets on the market. Gloucester Costco has a dozen

Aren't the Kirkland ones for $200 manufactured by all-clad?

When I purchased the 3-ply set they were made in South America but now I think they are made in China.

Kirkland 3-ply was the worst cookware set I ever purchased, one pan was warped out of the box and every single other warped within weeks (yes with proper use)...even the pots all warped from boiling water!

I’m all about getting the best value on things. I looked far and wide and at any price lower than this you can’t get “lasts for life” cookware set, the only other great value set is a brand called tramontina but i couldn’t source it in canada

Let me also throw my upvote for Ikea cookware. If you get the good ones, they're quite good. I have two Ikea fry pans and two pots, and they're excellent.

The problem with this is that except for all clad the rest of the manufacturers we constantly changing the thickness of there pans and manufacturing location, cheaper alternatives are constantly getting complaints about warping being hard to clean etc... I couldn’t find anybody that had something bad to say about all clad

Tramontina is the most famous pan/knife maker in Brazil - but some may be a bit skeptical of a Brazilian company outsourcing its production to China...

Costco sometimes have some stuff from them, but I think it's mostly cast iron, I dont think I have ever seen those tri-ply. Might be worth checking tho (well, worth checking in normal conditions, probably not right now haha)

At the end though it seems to be newish trend of making a quality product, off-shoring to china, reducing the quality and and jacking up the price... might have happened to tramontina too..... who knows - thats what buying all-clad gets you.
