Don't even bother w these brands, get a Sakura or Pacific range hood, they last u a lifetime, they got 700-1100 CFM for half the price, on the higher end models, they also have a self clean function either by steam or heat/electric

You need to know the dimensions of your exhaust vent and the BTU's of your stove. You can't just stick anyone in and hope for the best, larger CFM require larger vents and are louder. They can also adversely effect the efficiency of your range.

CFM needed for range hood is a great read that may answer your questions.

Sakura IS a very good brand, I'll give you that (I've had one), but not completely sure about the half the price part. They are excellent fans, but many of their models have their tried-and-true 'older' style design (i.e. especially for their under cabinet models), while these days people often want a more modern look.

Like someone else said, go for Sakura or Lotus brands. High CFM for a lower price.

i bought the 34" pro built in from rona 2 years ago for 500 (it was 20% off $619) ,these have really gone up in price, rona has it for 974 now. Happy with the purchase though. comparable ones at trail / coast were 1200+ at the time.

If you go over 600 CFM, make sure you have make up air.

They do have the chimney style too for a modern look but OFC those will cost u, attached is the price list for Sakura in Scarborough as I was shopping for 1 recently myself but decided to go w Pacific instead, only wanted the old school rocker switches instead of the new touch buttons w screen

I looked at these last year, but decided on a Sakura R747ii instead. Not the nicest looking, but can’t smell a darn thing outside of the kitchen when cooking.
