[Costco] Apple products are sold in Costco (iPad Air wifi 64GB $677, 32GB $583...)

Found at Costco Hunt Club yesterday, then saw the products are in Costco Kanata today. Not sure if other stores carry these now, but looks like Apple products are set to return Costco. See the article: http://mobilesyrup.com/2014/07/21/apple ... our-years/

So far, following products are observed to be carried:
-- iPhones
-- iPod Nano, iPod Touch
-- iPad mini (Retina and non-Retina)
-- iPad Air

Products have 1-year standard warranty. Costco provides better extended warranty: For $69 (devices under $500) or $99 (devices over $500), you will receive 3 years of Accidental Damage from Handling.

If you have Costco Executive Membership, you will get 2% reward (The Reward certificate is mailed with the Executive Member's annual renewal notice). Using Costco American Express TrueEarnings will get additional 1% reward (generally mailed in January).

Here are the pictures I took today.

Excellent! Means good extra warranty most likely, and 2% back. Cool.

Apple and Costco has kissed and made up.

They now offer iPhones at the Wireless Kiosks at the warehouse. Also selling $100 iTunes gift cards for $89.99.

Second Yes (2% back), but not extra warranty for tablets at Costco: just standard 1 yr.
Option: one can buy an extended warranty there that will cover extra 2 yrs (total of 3 yrs)

Associate confirms that Apple does not honor warranties on apple products purchased at Costco, however Costco will and that's even better.

Their 70$ (100 for some) warranty will cover accidental damage for 3 years, so thats miles better than apple care.

Warranty is $69 for devices under $500, $99 for devices over $500, for 3 years of Accidental Damage from Handling. No extension of manufacturer warranty.

(Accurate for Costco EAST, would assume Canada wide)

Interesting, I bet most people don't know that Apple WON'T cover the product purchased at Costco. Kinda sucks in a way.

Has anyone ever used the Costco warranty before? Do you just bring your product back to Costco or is it some third-party pain in the ass process?

Costco warranty is super painless. Basically call the number, they just tell you to bring it in and give you your money back or give you the equivalent current model.
Extended warranty uses a "third party" but it goes through the same Costco service so you're pretty sure to get the same swift service.

Its a bit like what they did with Nespresso. They put signs that Nespresso would not honor the warranties and Costco would take care of it.
It sucks for the people who want to know whats happening and speak to a "genius" at an Apple Store rather than a guy on the phone that tells you to either send it in or bring it back for a replacement. I don't care for that so not only are you saving tons of money, you get a no-hassle policy.
