I hear this game is quite good.

I've hated the combat in every Assassin's Creed game but this one has me interested based on reviews. If you've never liked Assassins Creed, is this the one that might pull you in?

I haven't played this but I think it is like Origins. I would say try Origins first (cheaper and a really good game imo)

I have too many big games to play atm, plus Fallout 76 soon.. so I'll sit on this until Boxing Day.

Assassins Creed games typically drop in price soon after launch but Origins as far as i know, hasn't gone below $40 and that was at least 6 months+ after launch. I have yet to see it cheaper. I suspect Odyssey will be similar since it's a well received, successful title.

But I'll probably sit this one out as well. Backlog is ridiculous at this point. I'm still trying to play games for 2 years ago like Zelda BOTW....LOL

According to the Walmart Black Friday flyer, this game will be sold at $35 USD, which translates to about $46 CAD. So I say this is not a bad price.

Why not buy it at Costco at this price, and keep it sealed and watch what comes of BF. What is Costco's gaming return policy? 30 days?

I would second waiting for Origins to drop and get that instead. Especially with all the DLCs, and now Odyssey out, it is only a matter of time.

Opinions vary and it's hard to compare to two since they are so different in terms of focus (Origins is more action-RPG, whereas Odyssey is much more loot-driven.) but IMO Origins' combat is much better especially if you aren't interested in tweaking stats and managing cooldown timers, etc. There's also a lot more interesting stuff to do in terms of optional combat encounters.

Is it just me or do AC games really never drop in price when buying new from Amazon/Best Buy?

Of course buying used is another story but I feel like unlike other Ubi games the AC games don't go on steep sales after a few months.

I have tracked prices on the recent AC games. Syndicate took a while to drop to a buyable price. Origins dropped to $40 fairly quickly. If i had bought either game at launch, I woulldnt have played either anyways!

always best to just wait until $20-30. Black Friday is a good time to get good deals on games like this
