[Costco] Bell small biz (4 line min) $600 credit deals - iphone 8 64gb for negative $372 xs max 64 for $516
If anyone has a specific model they want pricing on, I'll be going costco this aft so post below. Before anyone gets all accuse-y, I have no affiliation with the phone companies (I'm in high end coffee and tea) so take a downer before dumping on me as a shill. I just wanted that xs max and had a chat with my usual rep. Please do tell me if my logic/calcs wonky here...
Note that you can currently get pretty much same from Rogers if switching from Bell.
This is an awesome deal for my particular needs but there's a bunch of math and factors involved as to whether it makes sense for you or if it's a even a deal at all, especially if you can still get great deals on byod plans like the 10gb ones or if you're ok w freedom mobile. I still have to do a comparison to public mobile and outright buying but it's not going to be too far off, likely not as good in my particular case. As it stands, if I get 3x iphone 8 64 gb and flip them on kijiji, take an $1800 hit on my current rogers plan and get a 256gb xs max, I'll have the same plan as now but a few dollars cheaper (10 gb shared vs 8gb now w $10/2gb flex data but free US calling/texting which is 5/month extra now on two lines) and I'll pocket at least 1600 (probably closer to 2K) after the flip and sell off my 7 plus. Here's the plan, I'll add other models once I get the info:
Bell small biz via costco at their kiosk.
-all are pre-tax but this is small biz so I assume you'll get full hst back on your itc's. If not claiming that, it gets more complicated
-2 year plan
-10GB shared across 4 phones (minimum 4 to get the plan I believe but will double check), unlimited everything as usual
-unlimited call/text to US.
-$112.50 for the first line
-$49.50 for each additional line
-at 4 lines, that's unlimited w 2.5gb data per phone and US calling/texting for 261/4=65.25/month/phone; if you keep your own device(s) and flip any of these, can factor that in - for me, nets to about 17/month off per phone
-extra data to share is 18 for 2 gb, I think it's lower/gb for bigger blocks, will get that info today.
Here's where it gets interesting:
-phones over $250 (plan offerings, not buyout cost) get a $600 credit paid out over 5 months
-phones under $250 get $400 credit
Pricing for models I checked:
iphone 8 64 is best deal - $327 upfront but $100 back from costco so you still get the $600 credit, net cost is negative $372.01
iphone 7 32 147.99 - 100 - 400 net -352.01
iphone x 64 727.99 - 600 net 127.99
iphone xs max 64 987.99 - 600 net 387.99
iphone xs max 256 1186.99 - 600 net 1113.01
I have to check if the $100 costco discount applies to the x and up phones too.
Also have to check if setup fees
Also have to see what rep will toss in for goodies - got hundreds in chargers, headsets, handsfree, cables, cases, screen protectors tossed in last year.
The interesting part of small biz plans is that I'm able to return to Bell after less than a year, still qualify for credits, on basically the same plan that I moved the phones to rogers on (I think it was $800 for phone credit per line last time so probably worth waiting for boxing day and that will come back but one never knows), similar discounts on new plan. Means possible to jump from company to company yearly, pay off the balance, sell off 1 year old phones for about 75% of list and get new phones ad infinitum yearly. Get to 10 lines and move into even better options apparently.
Thoughts?
