[Costco] Bestar Libra Office Desk - $99.97 - YMMV

Came across this at the Downsview Costco (near Yorkdale mall) this morning. There were 7 left after I took one.

I recall seeing this for around $200 previously & I think even more before that. Looks like a good price to me.

I bought a big desk from these guys and the quality is good, the best that I have put together in a set like this (I've done like 5...)

A small rubber part used to hide wires was cracked so I phoned them and they sent me out the new part, no questions asked. It took like 4 mins from the time I picked up the phone to be done with the call.

So their service blew me away.

Agreed. I can attest to Bestar's service.

When I moved I had to disassemble my desk to fit it through the doors. When arriving to my new place I discovered a number of the metal/plastic joining pegs were crooked or snapped. Called Bestar and they just asked me for my model and how many I needed and ended up sending me twice as many just in case. Only costed me a couple minutes of being on the phone with them.

In my case (not the same set but bought in Costco as well) It took a long time for the smell to go away.
Also the paint dropped a bit after using mouse directly upon the desk so I added a mouse pad.
Price is very good. Would recommend it if you could put it in a room with good ventilation.

Does any one in lower mainland see one of this? I could really use it as my company announced new WFH policy. I’m using an old desk now and it’s cracking! Face With Tears Of Joy

I'll add another vote for Bestar quality. Have had one of their desks for a good 16+ years now and it still looks like the day I bought it. The one melamine panel had a weird fade in it when it arrived, and they sent a new one right away and included a personalized letter with the replacement apologizing for the fact my new desk didn't meet the standards they like to hold themselves to. Definitely a brand I would buy from again assuming nothing has changed in recent years.

That seems like a very good deal.
Not something I need but if I did that's a great price.

It's a bit tall at 29.7", no? Or is that length?

that's height - I think a "standard" desk is 29-30".

I own this one, bought it at the higher price (200+ or something) and I was very satisfied with it at that price.
- An absolute steal at $100

Some quick notes:
It is on the short side. I use an Ikea Markus chair and at 6'1" with a standardish torso I need the desk legs raised to their maximum possible height. Taller than me, or with a longer torso than me, and it'd be mighty uncomfortable/require a new chair.

It is on the small/near-ideal size for a two monitor setup with a hidden laptop/desktop.
- On the desk I have a two-arm 27" monitor setup (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07LDZYH8M?th=1&psc=1), with a laptop on a riser, a printer squirreled away on the corner, and some miscellaneous desktop items. This is too much for the desk. I'll be demoting the laptop from the desk once I get a double external display adapter for the laptop. Will then run a wireless keyboard and desktop space will be in much better alignment.
- The thing is heavy when fully assembled. Gonna need another body or some blocks of wood/supports to adjust the feet once in-place

Edit: The rear panel of the desk prevents the use of a C-clamp style monitor arm setup. I used the built-in cable pass-through of the desk (2" diameter) for the dual monitor mount and simply route my cables behind the desk.
Had to use grommet mounting approach which brings the monitor arms a few inches closer/eats some desk space. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71g ... L1500_.jpg
