Pre-pandemic they were 429,99$ regular price. At that price isn’t bad considering inflation

Wish MX55 were on sale too, don't like the bowflex design.

I've used 552's and Powerblocks urethane 50. PB wins in every category. Could probably find a used set for decent price

I was at Richmond Hill location yesterday and they were regular price. Did they just change it in the weekend?

There's are okay if you're starting out, and low on space, since it comes with a stand too. But, if you want a piece to last for life (less plastic) and expandable for more weight (50-90 lbs) I'd recommend PowerBlocks, Ironmasters or just get some stand-alone dumbbells.

Depends. Stand only is usually Costco, but I've seen $399 for this same variant pre-pandemic or sometimes like $249 for just the dumbbells (no tall stand) at walmart in 2018.

I still feel it is overpriced for what they are, even favtoring in inflation. Especially now that powerblocks more available, and copycats of this design also available. I feel like $399 or below is a good price. Then again, if we're finally over lockdowns for good, might just be better going to gym. The weight isn't too high on these for most guys to justify the cost.

Also recommend PowerBlocks over these. I have these, they're good but with any consistent program you'll outgrow these quick. Looking to sell them now for the 1090s or PowerBlocks.

I see theres a lot off brand/unbranded adjustable dumbbells for ~$300 on FB/Kijiji. Are those way worse than these ones? What's the risk?

I got a pair (Jogi brand) from Superstore for about $100 each. Zero issues whatsoever with them (very comparable to the 552’s which I used to own).
