Have this thermometer and it has been the easiest, most consistent thermometer I've used. It's a must have for new parents, makes a great baby shower gift

Just a heads up, if you don't see them at costco, ask the pharmacy, they keep them behind the counter.

It was $69 before at Costco for a very long time - wondering what happened that the price dropped so dramatically? Outdated technology?

Forehead thermometers are so much easier to use and less invasive, could be demand has just fallen off.

It's $50 reg price in store and $30 on sale in store. The one you're referring to is $68 in store and $70 online and is touchless.

Can confirm this also works on people with 2 ears instead of 5. :)

Kidding aside, once you establish what your or your intended victim's baseline temp usually is, these work great for detecting fevers. That said, toddlers HATE these in our family. You can usually get 1 temp reading, but any subsequent ones while they're awake and are on to you have just ended up in further aggravating the situation. :D

They'll probably continue to sell both kinds. This is just a typical sale price Costco has here and there on such products. If they eventually stop selling it, they'll just replace it with a higher model like the Thermoscan 7 which has been out a while already.

Dumb question, I know it says for all ages but anyone used on the parents of the kids? I mean how accurate is it for adults?

Note that the INSPQ’s ‘From Tiny Tot to Toddler’ book recommends rectal temperature readings as they claim to be more accurate than by ear.

Any truth to this? See attached.

Rectal readings are more accurate in any age, not just kids. And any other types (oral, axillary, tympanic) but for obvious reason, not as convenient...

I'll answer your question with a question... why would adults be any different than kids?

Different ear canal sizes and depths perhaps.

It worked fine last time I got sick. I knew I was in a bad way and sure enough, temp 39.4
