For reference, I bought this model end of 2019. It was I think $380 + 10% off at staples.

Printer is quite good and comes with decent networking software -- but it's massive and heavy.

I came from the canon image class printer and not a heavy user, so I think it was an overkill for me.

Is this a good deal due to costco warranty? Also how does this compare to Canon imageclass 644 printer?

Damn how is this 20kg?! I'm kicking myself for not getting a printer early last year and obviously with everyone at home there's a shortage and barely any deals. Any lower cost stand-alone laser printers out there for occasional home office use?

I just got two black cartridges for my 9130W for ~$70 including $10 delivery charge from Canadatoner.ca. So far so good.

I have the bigger brother mfc-l8900cdw, but basically the same thing except intended to support a higher print volume and prints a little bit faster. Absolutely great printer. Super easy to use, probably gonna last us for next 10~20 years.

Nice. I just noticed this this morning, too. I've been waiting for this to restock. Bought one.

I was watching this one too but then seen the rtings review of it... colour is not that great, so I'm opting to wait for a black and white printer for now and buying some inkjet or similar for colour. Anyone used this for any colour printing can comment? Obviously not looking to print photos but if I'm printing colour, I would like it to have good colour matching.

Regular price on Amazon was $375ish back in the good old days of March 2020. Keeping my eyes out for a DCP-L2550DW, which i think used to be $120ish..now $220

Have had very good experience with 123ink btw.

I have the DCP-L2550DW and it has problems waking up to print via WiFi. I'll be upgrading to this for colour and hope that it works more reliably.

I have the MFC 9130CW and absolutely love it. I do wish it had duplexing printing and duplex scanning. The best feature, though, is true black and white printing, where it doesn't use any colour toner at all when set to mono mode. My cheap Samsung 410 became much more expensive than this after realized it was using up the colour toners even though printing black.

Had a similar issue. I turned off the sleep function and it works now. I know it's not as energy efficient, but I find that it still goes into standby (low power mode) regardless.
