I have purchased two of these units already, when they were previously on sale at Costco.ca for less. The last one I purchased at $40 was late November 2016, but these Kanto units go on sale pretty regularly both at Costco stores and online. I am really impressed with the quality of these M300 units in particular and I have currently have an older (heavier) 46" TV and a newer (lighter) 55" TV supported by these. Even when they are fully extended (> 20"), they feel rock-solid. I am not the type of person that pushes devices to their stated maximum tolerances, at least not when a fault would mean a new TV crashing to the floor. However after using the first one, I felt comfortable using a 2nd on the 55" TV and now it has been there for nearly a year and it as solid as it could be.
I presume the 55" limits dates from a time when 55" TVs were closer to the 80lb maximum weight limit, because it certainly has no problem at all with my < 40lb 55" model. Compared to what I saw at other retailers, I'd say these are excellent value at $50, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are available at a lower price before the end of the year (Black Friday or Boxing Day promotions).

I was curious about the exact weight of my 55" TV without stand....... 33.1 lbs. If you mount this single-pole solution into a stud, it can safely hold a modern 55" TV.

Don't forget this thread. The quality between the two may be similar and as someone that just got one from the other thread, they definitely look identical; even down to the protective molding/covers.

I have the 55 inch Haier mounted on my deck with this.
It's awesome.
Due to the size of the tv It will not fully turn both ways. But it's very sturdy.

I purchased mine on amazon for around $35-$40. Thousands of great reviews on both CA/US sites, cheaper, and can hold more weight.

The single stud wall plate just looked too unreliable for me to put a 1000+ device on it, despite knowing it should hold so I went with one that had two connections to the wall and safely holds up to 100lbs+ even though my 55 was only around 40lbs I think.

But yes, the return policy is good at costco.

Thanks OP.
I have a very old beast 37" Acer that is 80+lbs , so think going for a heavier duty tilt mount like the PT300 , which is also on sale at Costco...
