we bought two of these. sold them as they are uncomfortable. the back doesn't go high enough so there's no where to rest your head. also cushions arne't very plush.

It is hand selected, what is hilarious about that?

Each top grain leather piece is dyed at a different factory than the bonded leather and to ensure a visual match at the point of assembly, rather than using a spot spectrometer with random sampling, they instead have QA personnel match the two visually.

I know this from experience because I've been to furniture factories in Vietnam where it's done.

Low back sofas are the new style of fashion.

I hate them but they make the house look bigger, and sleek. They are very uncomfortable and shouldn't be used as daily use sofas but instead used in a guest entertainment room.

Of course it is hand selected...but so what? Is that supposed to imply some great quality--a McDonalds hamburger is hand made and their ice creams (so called) are hand drawn. No one cares.

Fact is bonded leather is a poor quality product.

So guests can suffer. LOL. I don't know why people would pay money for useless sofas, so the house can look bigger. Hopefully this "new style of fashion" will go away quickly after numerous returns.

Younger people love it. The style of sitting is not upright, like a chair. It's to slouch down so that your head is on the back cushion and your feet are up on a large ottoman or coffee table. Mid-back sofas are popular in basements, recreation rooms, lounge areas, etc., for watching tv, rather than having conversations. Older people, or people with back issues, will likely hate them. They still have their purposes. If it's against a wall, you can also put back cushions up for those who want to put their head back.

High back sofas, with headrests, are more rare these days. They're also much heavier and more difficult to transport. Likely more expensive too because of the additional materials.

This sofa is, in my opinion, a cheap sofa. I don't think it's all leather - only the seating areas. The one at my Costco store had a big rip in the side.

Keep in mind, for this and all other Made-in-China sofas, you're paying the new Federal Government 295% additional increase in tariffs/duties/import-taxes on this product that came into effect last year. So, this might have normally come in at $899, but now you have to give $300 (built into the price) to your Federal Government for Made-in-China sofas.

If your sofa is made elsewhere, Canada, U.S., etc., you won't pay the new large import duties - but good luck getting one now as many are back-ordered for 6-12 months! Ikea Canada found themselves in a difficult situation as almost all their funiture is Made in China. They have chosen not to bring in many of those sofas now as the prices would be significantly higher. It's not a "supply chain issue" but a Federal Government targed new tax.

They're just trying to make bonded leather sound good.

Bonded leather is terrible.. it starts to flake and crack after a while.. stay away!

It's not really leather, although it contains some. "It is made as a layered structure of a fiber or paper backer covered with a layer of shredded leather fibers mixed with natural rubber or a polyurethane binder that is embossed with a leather-like texture." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonded_leather

It's a shame they haven't figured out how to make these durable since the #1 complaint about fake leather is flaking / tearing and rarely do people complain about the feel or look (when new).

It seems you are the only one who "loves it". I tired adding 500 to cart and got this: "We're sorry, only 434 are available for item 1549518." Costco still has 434 available. Nobody buys them.

It's very hard to find an all-leather sofa these days. Most have seating areas leather only. Maybe some very expensive European ones will be full leather.

Yes, this tariff is killing the availability and drives inflation. It was meant to protect local manufacturers but almost none left. It works only as an additional tax now. Good job, federal government.

We bought a "normal" leather (sitting areas only) made in USA sofa from wayfair.ca a few months ago. Waited only 1.5 months instead of estimated 3 months. Overall good experience. I'd suggest looking for classic sofas there.
