[Costco] Costco.ca new membership up to $60/$120 + $20 voucher

New members.

Sign up for either Executive ($120+tax) or Basic ($60+tax) member and get $120 or $60 back as a Costco.ca voucher depending on which you chose. (Includes free spouse card)

If you use a Mastercard for annual renewal you get an extra $20.

You can do it either in person or online.

Dave510 reads the fineprint:
*** You need to spend either $100 or $250 before taxes, fees and shipping to use the $60 or $120 vouchers. The vouchers are only usable on Costco.ca and expires January 17, 2021.

Executive use code COSTCOEX21
Basic use code COSTCOGS21

Still a decent deal but these terms should be noted.

Does this coupon work for the sale items? Wondering if I can use it for a TCL or Hisense TV sale in the future.

Doesn't have any exclusions when it comes to sales or gift cards so should be fine.

My wife is a member and I have a spouse card. Can we flip the membership around, so I buy a new membership and add her as a spouse?

**New memberships or memberships expired 18+ months only.

Still, this is a good deal as the bonus negates the cost of the membership itself and then gives you $20 extra.

Does anyone know if you can purchase an item with the voucher online (let's say an ipad for example), then return it in store to get actual gift cards for the voucher amount to use in the warehouse?

Anyone know if I can pass the coupon to someone else to use? Or it ties to my new registered account?

Thanks!

Is it true that the voucher can only be used online and not in-store? Can someone confirm this?

It's on the Opening Post: "The vouchers are only usable on Costco.ca and expires January 17, 2021"

Prices online are not only higher but 2-day delivery items have an additional S&H surcharge of $3 per item (additional to the S&H surcharge already embedded in the "online" price). Costco.ca says it'll drop such surcharges for online orders over $75 pre-tax (IIRC) but it won't. Another annoyance: Costco's courier is UPS which unsafely drops your parcels wherever at your place (even if order says "signature required") or takes them by default to their warehouse for you to pick up if their driver has any difficulty in finding your address or intercom. UPS used to allow rerouting to nearest UPS access point before first attempt through chat with a CSR (a person), but it looks like that option has disappeared in their new system. Now, instead there's an automated system for which you need to register and which has a glitchy software that simply reroutes parcels to UPS warehouses. I haven't found yet the trick for getting parcels routed to UPS AP before first delivery attempt (so parcels arrive sooner) on this new automated system at UPS. Phoning takes too much time unnecessarily.
