I don't understand the downvotes. I've actually been using their service for over 2 years and never had any issues. Obviously you need a good internet connection. I pay under 6$ a month including taxes and fees.

If I dont use their subscription service, can I just use the phones as a regular phone?

This service is fantastic. Set it up for the parents as they didn't want to get rid of their home phone number because of extended family members. Had it for 3-4 years no complaints. They pay for the "premium" as well

So you guys did you ever had issues? Porting number is easy? We are a family of 4, we all have a cell phone with our own number but wife does not want to cancel home phone, so this could be a good alternative. Premium is $10/month, I actually pay a little less than... $40

Has anyone transferred their phone number from VONAGE to OOMA before? This is the only thing stopping me. I’m afraid that my number might get stuck in some Vonage black hole ...

Not that I want to know who downvoted, I don't care being downvoted as I am not the kind of guy who looks for internet consideration, but I'd like to know why is it a bad product/service. Would like to jknow good and bad experiences before ordering aud subscribe ;)

How much is the service? I have a magic jack and I paid 50$ which came with 1 year of service. I renewed for 100$ for 5 years afterwards. How much is this?

EDIT: It's 10$/month for Canada calling. More expensive than magic jack.

Same here, telo service is great. Have been with them for quite a few years.
Had 1 issue, and they solved it in a very professional way.
I have to say, their service is beyond where I can imagine, for my $5 a month product.
I feels like being respected as a customer, and that is super rare here...

Some haters got to show their feelings, it just shows how shallow and immature they are.
Obviously you cannot force people to grow, all we can do is hope for it.

Looks like it's about 4-5$ per month on standard (fees and taxes)
and about 16ish /month on their premier plan.

I'm currently with Vonage and just signed up with Ooma and waiting for my number to be ported.
What they don't tell you until you start the porting process is that it can take 3 to 4 weeks.
I called their support to ask why so long and basically they say it's in case of a worse case scenario of people who enter wrong or incomplete information which will definitely slow down the process.
She told me she has seen it done within a few days to a week so we'll see.
I was with Vonage only for their $40 plan so my wife had unlimited calls to her family in Mexico.
With Ooma I we will have unlimited calls to US and Mexico with their premium plan for $9.99 plus tax per month. Their premium plan has tons of cool features although a some I probably won't use.

Probably referring to the premier plan.
As the basic plan is technically free, in which we're only paying taxes and the 911 fee.

for $10/month +taxes you have the premium service with more features. If you do not need premium it is $5.61 in Qc. for fees and taxes. Ooma is WAYYY cheaper than your Magic Jack at $20/month ($100 for 5 years)

Canada wide calling is $5.64 in Qc. with fees and taxes. If you go with Premier subscription it is $10 + taxes for Canada/US/Mexico calling. With Ooma you have the mobile app and from there you can make free phone calls over wifi from anywhere in the world in the area of your subscription for free.

No issues with porting it. No dropped calls (which I was worried about with a VoIP service) works like a charm.

Plus this is Costco. Don't like it return it
