any other non-roku suggestions for a TV 50"-55" around 300-500$?

That's a 1080p set. this thread is discussing 4k HDR immersive ultra high, high def pixel porno sh!t. ( no i would not pay $400 for 10 year old tech)

Poutinemaster wrote: We got one before Christmas. nice Tv but it suffers slighlty from the dirty screen effect. i notice it (sometimes), but my wife and kids don't see it so we kept it. Just be aware that these exact models suffer from this issue. Not all units but quite a lot.

Super good colors, with video games and 4k movies, Disney+ kicks in with Dolby Vision for their recent stuff. Roku integration is also super good and the processor is fast. Much faster than comparable Vizio TVs in example.
The only time I notice the 'dirty screen' effect is when I'm watching hockey because the screen is mostly white but otherwise I do not notice it. Personally at this price range, I would take the mediocre grey uniformity over the issues in similarly priced models.

Please everyone... don’t buy at these prices and just wait for $$599/$399! Come end of month they will drop cause the world is ending and they’ll need the space for toilet paper :)

The cheapest I remember seeing the 55” was $489-499 during boxing week this past year as I bought one for $499 from Best Buy for my Sister and Brother-in-law.

damn I missed the last deal so ordered the Hisense 65R6209 for 599$ and just had it delivered today. It the TCL 6 series worth the 230$ difference and hassle Of returning the Hisense?

We added Ethernet adapter to our Chromecast and never looked back. Buttery smooth video, instant responsiveness. So much better than WiFi in our case.

Can anyone tell me if the TCLSeries 6 65 USB port powers on and off with the TV. Planning on some Bias lighting.

Some stores had hit as low as $399. Online won’t get that low, but if we all hold off on buying now these things will go lower later

NO, have the 65 6 series, always powered ON. Put in a smart switch for ballast lighting but Harmony Ultimate cannot control only thru Alexa. sucks...
