I'd say once every few years, it's a bit frustrating. Mine keep sagging on my side as I'm a bigger guy so I'm yet to find one that does not sag. I'm now going to try an extra firm one with coils to see if it'll make a difference.rogersvictim2015 wrote: ↑ I think my question was not clear. I'm looking for your average approximation on how often you changed your mattress last couple of times. I was not asking for an ideal answer. No offense.
Thanks.

I think extra firm with coils should be better in that case. I'm not sure which is a good buy. I'll be interested as well if anyone knows a good one which doesn't break the bank as I like firm mattress myself.Pr0metheus wrote: ↑ I'd say once every few years, it's a bit frustrating. Any suggestions for side and stomach sleepers?mittwaffen wrote: ↑ Lets just say i put a few months research into it all and now i understand it.
Also one thing i forget, Juno vs amazon bed in boxes, some of the cheap amazon beds in boxes sit under compression for weeks- which causes huge issues when it reinflates.
I did recall the Juno and Douglas we built to order so they have days under compression.
I noticed this when i tested amazon beds, and the cheapest ones there have common complaints of issues with reinflation -- this isnt due to the mattress presay but being under vaccum for too long.
Keep this in mind.
Also if you sleep hot these pillows are by far the best on amazon, i have $200 dollar pillows that these destory if you sleep hot and can deal with a semi firm pillow.

Hope this helps some people -- my pain and suffering is your easy path to fixing some anoyying sleeping issues.
Using firm foam bed right now but waking up with achy shoulders and necks.
Went out of town to US and slept on a soft mattress. Didn't think we would like it but had good sleep on it. It was Beautyrest Recharge Signature Select Ashaway Plush.

Do you have a link for ur mattress?redflagdealsguy wrote: ↑ I sleep on an Amazon 12" foam mattress.
Very satisfied.
These hybrid foam mattresses are great.
It's taken 150 years, but mattress margins are finally coming down.
After three weeks trial, I returned it.
I found it sagged way too much for only three weeks usage. I had no confidence this mattress would be comfortable in the long term. My 8 year old latex topped Stearns and Foster mattress is back in its spot and has about the same amount of sag that the Casper did after only three weeks.
Just FYI, I'm 6'1" and 220 lbs.
Got the Juno Mattress, it's prefect! Thank youmittwaffen wrote: ↑

Yes, the poly sleep has these multi section foam density areas its exactly for hip and shoulder pressure relief for side sleeping, but if you sleep near edges the firm foam edging will cause issues, however its designed for this. I think its 6" boarder around the bed.georvu wrote: ↑ Any suggestions for side and stomach sleepers?

A more basic and cost effective design (softer) is the douglas, similar to the juno (canadian made and built to order) so it doesnt sit under compression very long vs most others.
Polysleep is made in quebec i think aswell, but is slightly more vs the douglas.
If you feel like the firm edge will matter alot for you go with this (polysleep),
Douglas is good value and i think you can return it after 1 month if you're not happy.
Also keep in mind if you dont sleep on foam and use springs, the transition to foam is a few weeks/a month to be use to it. When i go back to normal beds i ache and find them horrible, it was not as extreme going to foam but i had to get the right pillow comibination (density) for my neck support on foam -- when i figured this out it became lightyears beyond traditional beds.
Baiscally i needed new pillows suited for the foam mattress vs the soft plush for traditional mattresses.
Something to consider but amazons great return policy has you covered to get the right setup.

Definitely way under 250 lbs.
Think will try Douglas first since on softer side and hopefully that works else Poly.

This is the mattress to get? They don't seem to make different models so presume so.
Can we use box spring underneath since already have one? Perhaps a plywood sheet on top of box spring for added support?
Polysleep:

They make different models so which recommended for side sleepers with neck and shoulder pain?
* The Polysleep Mattress?
* The Origin Mattress? [Presumably this? Presently on sale]
* The Zephyr Mattress?

It depends on your weight and undersupport. If you have a solid base or slatted base i think this is when it matters. The douglas i think is 2" thicker vs the juno so if you slide sleep its more consitent flat and has a bit more give for you, where the juno is slightly firmer. Basically if you weight alot 250+ the weight+ slat gaps will be horrid for slide sleeping, where a thicker bed wont do this, but with a solid base its less of an issue the bed will just be firmer so you'll have some minor aches.
Now, if you sleep hot to begin with you could just grab a 2" topper for the juno (likely have to trim a little to perfect fit and then get a similar solution but for the cost of this the douglas i think is more competitive and has a slightly thicker gel layer.
I side sleep and back sleep i have some slight pressure on the juno when ive used it but nothing thats an issue for me or guests who have used the guest bed - i still consider side sleeps on it amazing vs alternatives.
I would say if youre 200ish or so slide sleeping on a good base / bed frame with minimal gaps, juno can work, if you're heavier def douglas.
You're basically paying for 2" more of buffer for your side sleeping weight and reduced pressure points.
Much thanks... just edited my response above.mittwaffen wrote: ↑ It depends on your weight and undersupport. If you have a solid base or slatted base i think this is when it matters. For the poly sleep dont get the entry or top end, Juno is identical to their enty model but its way more expensive.
The top end is too much, gimmick because the foam will still fail in roughly the same time as any other bed in a box.

This is the one to get, please order these on amazon -- better return policy and its cheaper.
https://www.amazon.ca/Polysleep-Hybrid- ... P29Q2?th=1
Make sure you select the -$245 dollar coupon btw.
The douglas you have to order direct from good morning.
https://www.douglas.ca/en/product/douglas-mattress/
Free cooling gel pillow is a plus as their pillows are 8.5/10 quality; just keep in mind if you open the pillow that comes with it, and you return the mattress they will subtract the value of the used pillow so make sure you read their return policy.
I also think they force you to use the bed for 1 month before you can return it where amazon doesnt do this with theirs (but they dont have full selection on amazon with beds yet).
Please read their return policy (douglas) a few times and then decide which order is best to get first -- They are good beds and having to use one for a month isnt a big deal it'll help you transition to foam / polysleep if you get that afterwards.
Just keep in mind your body will need a few weeks to get use to it if you havent used one for a long period before -- so it isnt because the bed is bad, its your body adjusting to different support system.
If you can afford it, order both or all three then decide what to keep, its pretty hardcore to do but i mean you could nothing stopping you, its just battle of the mattresses. The best value/preformance prevails.
But if youre over 250lbs + a partner id say juno is too thin for you.
However, you could order them both and try, then update me because this is just my educated guess.
Also the base is vital if you toss plywood or solid base it'll help way more so then maybe the juno could cut it for you its hard to say, but i think its getting into iffy area compression wise that the douglas is just a safer bet at that point.

Hoping you can help. Bought Queen Douglas 2 weeks ago & husband finding it much too soft (he's 175 lbs, 6' tall, side-sleeper). Last 12 years we were on a firmer 10" deep memory foam. New it was too firm, but fine with topper.
Goodmorning rep said Douglas rating was '6' and suggested we try Novosbed instead (rating 7+), but it's pretty expensive. I've read that Casper Original 'feels like' a 7 rating, and that Costco Casper Select feels even firmer. All the cheaper foam beds mentioned here seem to be rated at '6' or even '5'. What do you suggest for a firm foam at a reasonable price?
Unfortunately we can't keep trying different mattresses as we live 33 storeys up and we're in out 80s. So heaving mattresses up & down takes lots of help and fine timing.
Do you have any opinion on Ikea mattresses? At least they would deliver into our front door for $59 and are reasonably priced. I was wondering about the HAUGSVAR hybrid, pocket coil & memory foam. Do hybrid mattresses usually feel firmer? We also need a firm edge, as we do sit on the bed edge a lot.
Trouble with trying them in store is so many others have done the same, so not a true picture. Also husband has little shopping patience, and too much arthritis to venture far. He has agreed to visit nearest Sleep Country to try Casper (no car so can't visit a Costco), also to visit downtown Ikea to try their mattresses. I do want to not make another mistake, so any suggestions you can give would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would go with the polysleep mid tier as its firmer aswell. Also you can additionally grab firm toppers to offset this aswell.
Also the douglas is softer vs the juno - but i believe the polysleep is firmer (confirm with their support.)
