[Costco] Charging Essentials Wi-Fi Smart Plug x 2 $18.99/Smart Dimmer Switch x 2 $39.99

I just bought a pair of CE Wi-Fi Smart plugs for $24.99 from Costco. It is pretty small compared with Tplink HS105 and works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. There is free app on Android and iOS.

Never heard about the brand name but I like to give it a try.

Edit: many people also bought a pair of WiFi smart dimmer switches for $39.99. Costco added a wifi outlet for $29.99 recently.

Edit: some places sell the mini plugs for $18.99 now.

Nice lower cost alternatives to brand names.

Looks pretty hot since this is a comparable price to OEM ones from Amazon but backed by Costco (if nothing else, if the app sucks, returns is simple).

These CE plugs support Alexa and Google Home, so it could be integrated with ST via Cloud to Cloud.

For local and direct control, unless these guys are using ESP8266 SoC, it can be modded with a custom firmware; otherwise the Sonoff stuff are your best bet.

I just bought it in Calgary. Wanted to use it with google home but seems like it doesnt really work that well. Either that, i am doing it the wrong way or something. It does work when I give the command on the google home APP but not with the speakers....I am currently using TPlink and the switch works seamlessly. Has anyone gotten it to work with google home?

Seen at Candiac and Brossard to. They are wifi only and don’t intergrate with ST or Wink.

They have a GH and Alexa Skill, that’s all they can interact with. No IFTTT channel, made by the same company that sells the power bars and “smart” dimmer switches.

Not very smart of a product. If their services ever go down and stop. You are stuck with a failed product (anyone remember the TCP lights fiasco?)

For it's simplicity of use. Using from the app or with Google voice. I think it's quite responsive. I also found them to be quiet with no loud clicking sound and smaller than most other ones out there. They also sell Wi-Fi light switches as well, 2 for 40. Cheaper than any others I've seen out there. Ive used 1 so far for my outdoor light and works great.

Got these today. Work just like the tplink plug that I have for half the price. Bit smaller size than HS105 too.

Would like to try the light switches too if I can find them at a Costco near me... Especially if only $40 for 2. Even better if they are dimmer switches
