I thought Costco has the outdoor one, 2 pack for like $27.99?
Lurking on RFD for years. Finally decided to make an account...😂

I was never able to find this at either of the Kitchener\Waterloo locations, I would have grabbed one if I did.

I bought 2 pairs a few months ago when the rebate was available. One of them died. So I returned them all. The switch would clip on and off but no power went to the lamp which was connected to it

Did the lamp have halogen/incandescent bulbs or LED/CFL? These smart plugs usually have dinky relays and can't reliably switch on high current/resistive loads.

I don’t think we can use CFL or non-dimmable bulbs with these dimmer switches, right?

In the 1990'si blew speakers on a stereo as I connected a remote access plug but had the volume turned up to 11. So max sure it is within range simple stuff like a ac adaptor for us connected stuff is ok, coffee maker, lamp , led lights, slump pump , water sprinkler, etc...don't do stereos with that are high wattage but a cheap small radio is ok or and device that doesn't require a soft power button but instead a mechanical switch for power it works well to remotely power on things.
Blew up 2 of them most likely because of high wattage stereo connected to them. The TP-Link ones seem more resistant.

I'm no electrician and maybe you can use them as long as you don't use the dimmer option.. (but then why not consider just a regular switch)... But I added emphasis for you. Grinning Face

It's Walmart, it has to be, I saw ETL for the plug on a review, the bulbs are also probably ETL since it's the cheapest one to get vs UL/CSA

FYI, CE is not an actual (3rd party) certification, it's self-cert...colloquially known as China Export lol

Has anyone tried the Smart Plugs with a Raspberry Pi 3B? I find that even when the smart plug is off, it still seems to deliver a very tiny amount of current that my RPi3 keeps trying to boot from and failing due to lack of current.

EDIT: I tried it with both plugs that came in the package, same result.

I have not seen the switches lately - just the plugs. But I would wait until the plugs go on sale. In oct/Nov got the plugs for 18.99 and the switches for 31.99 (pack of two respectively)

I got mine from the oakville location. However, one of them died for no apparent reason. I bought another two pack online (doesnt seem to be available now) and will return the one purchased at a higher price.

Plenty of both switches and plugs in Okotoks AB if anyone is interested.

Very nice. In some GTA (Vaughan, Oakville, Vaughan West) and Kitchener locations I could not find the switches.
