They only had to make it Costco Member exclusive online like they already do for some items. I can't imagine Cineplex complaining about wholesale volume of business, I think Costco is trying to drive foot traffic into its stores with this decision. Costco doesn't believe in loss leaders.
You are forgetting that by making it instant online, it would impact online sales vs having it in store requires you to first go to Costco. That and if on impulse, you want to watch a movie, Costco could be close so you pay the inflated price.

If I'm not mistaken, Costco.ca website is open for general public to make purchases online. Perhaps Costco.ca couldn't restrict it to only members buying them online. But I know US Costco website does have prices for members vs. non members.

Just curious if anyone pays the same, I bought the Costco $24.99 few months back, when I use the coupon Cineplex charge $10 on top for the processing fee. It is not too bad, but I am wondering if it happens to anyone.

Did you upgrade to a higher end experience like 3D or IMAX? Sorrryi don't know the upcharge for these movies.

What location is this?
I just stopped by Marche Centrale (Montreal), and these are still @ $30 regular price.

other cineplex have staff manning the refill stations?
I should edit my last comment, they aren't refill stations because it's not meant to get refills only a one time use. The STC location seems to be from experience the only spot where it's faced away from the employees (concession stand and ticket vending). It's literally facing the washrooms and the games which are a whole different entity. I also noticed the STC has an elevator which anyone can use to go upstairs and skip the line from showing a ticket. I suspect they've caught on but they need to have it working for people with disabilities.

I would also like to know. Just went to a Costco in the GTA and it was 30.

Saw an avx/3D film Saturday night and was charged extra $5 over my costco tickets. Same extra $5 for kids and adults. If it's just 3D its $3 extra

From a previous Theatre employee, this is the best deal to see a movie. There is an expire date on the back, but we 99% always over-ride it and allow it. 1% for the really bad guests who just start yelling at you. These also give scene points even though they shouldn't, so don't leave your scene card at home. And lastly, if you don't want to use the coupon. Just buy a medium drink + large popcorn and grab the candy from dollar store. (Medium drink = 1 medium drink + half a juice box, not worth 50cents, just ask for no ice in your medium drink and you're essentially getting a large.)
They stopped putting expiry date on these a long time ago. Now they just have a printed date.
