[Costco] Coleman Triton + Propane Gas Camping Stove - $59.99

Here you go campers. Title says all.

Coleman Triton + Propane Gas Camping Stove - $59.99. Sale price is just for today

https://www.costco.ca/.product.1464928.html

This is slightly higher version of classic one. This one generally retails around $100-120 depending on the retailer.

Considering the lockdown relaxation/summer time + Reputed brand/model + Costco’s return policy - this should be a no brainer if you are in the market

There’s discussion about this particular deal and the product in the Costco Canada Day Sale thread for anyone interested…

OP this is likely a Costco only model as Costco’s regular retail is $79?

I bought this stove last week. Usually I follow the price of the bought products for a few weeks. When I was checking at Costco.ca, I noticed the sale price and posted it here as a lot of new - first time campers might be in the market (courtesy -covid). Later I browsed RFD and saw a comment.

I received the product yesterday. I don’t see any difference in the features/functions/model except the package color - which is red. Even I have noticed both green and red color Coleman’s for both classic and Triton + in Walmart with no difference in features/functions/price.

I don’t think this is exclusive to Costco

Correct. You get a gas stove (propane to be specific) plus a Triton, which is the mythical Greek merman sea god.

Triton is a bit of a control freak though, always telling me how I should cook my camping hot dogs...

Normally with things like this the products are identical... But often they'll make a unique SKU for specific high-volume retailers. Same exact product, and features, but just a slightly different model number or SKU.

Why? Price matching is a big reason... Even if it's the same product, if retailer A has an exclusive version, then people can't have other retailers to price match against, since it's "not the same model number".

HD is a good example of this, and Walmart, which for some products have slightly different packaging and model numbers, just to either market it as an "exclusive" item, or to prevent PMing.

Hmm, debating about getting this, or just continuing to use the butane stove we use for hot pot.

Canadian Tire has well reviewed Outbound dual burner deluxe stove on sale for $55 this week too. It is very well made with folding legs, same suitcase format as Coleman. Regular price I think is $79, but as usual Costco's return policy can't compare to CT.

I had this for four years and no issue at all - I camp about 3-4 weeks a year. And occasionally used for picnic. Got it around $40 back then. Only down side is it does not come with the ignition so you should keep the lighter. I always put inside so not a huge issue. If the price is similar, I would go for Costco one.
