While ryzen is a much better cpu, i’d still go with the m15 r3 because imo alienware is simply better built.
Ive tried g14/15 gl15 gs66 blade15 and m15r3 last yr when hunting for a laptop (all with rtx builds- max q & mobile versions) and ended up with msi gs 66 because i couldnt justify the price for blade15 and alienware.
But had money not been a factor, or at least priced at sub 2k, i wouldve gone with the blade15 or this.
I love my gs66 for its build and spec, but it was also like 1700 after all the discounts lol.

I ordered the alienware off costco since, well, 90 day return + extra year warranty is hard to beat. Even now you are paying $2000 at dell's site with all the discounts for this laptop.

2060 isn't much off a 3060 and I've had the Zephyrus G14 for a month and loved it, but the dell is better built and a 2060!

Wish the damned Zephyrus G15 were available in Canada man. $1999 for the 2060 model, wow!

I got this laptop with a 1TB hard drive in January. It runs really well (I have been using it for VR through Oculus Link and Virtual Desktop - playing games including Half Life Alyx). Only issue so far is that the form factor is quite large, particularly from front to back (touchpad to rear vents). The other dimensions are okay. Beyond that, it has been great.

Edit: For example, that GS66 posted below is 1.1" narrower from front to back.

I dont have a costco account but my parents does, how much does those 2 laptop cost?
Also you can get the same specs from Dell Canada from their Dell Brand CAD $1,329.99 over than Gaming Alienware Brand? is it worth it? Not sure if they performance the same or Temps etc.. But looks like the same specs.. there should be 10% off codes etc

I was close to buying this last week but the soldered RAM, white colour, and not-good battery life (as per reviews and benchmarks) turned me away. It's a gorgeous and really good laptop though.

The Asus has the better sceen at 240Hz refresh rate versus 144 Hz and the Asus has the better processor. I'm not sure about thermals but I reckon they are around equivalent. No doubt in my mind the Asus deal provided better value, but a lot of people have an affinity towards Alienware for one reason or another.

Does it even have an IPS screen? sRGB gamut? Nits?
At this price I would expect Yes/more than 90%/more than 300. Otherwise laptops with 2060 can be had for $1300.

I ordered the M17r3 and promptly cancelled after watching some reviews. Looks like the cpu runs smoking hot. The RTX27070 wont push any modern game to more than mid 100fps. After looking at it I dont like the white color. The fans seriously sound like a jet engine on performance mode. My wife would shoot me if I woke her up playing a game in a hotel room.
