[Costco] Costco.ca: Hisense 65” U6GR $697.99 after $100 off

Great deal. $100 off the 65” Hisense U6GR. Canada Day only. Better than the $50 off deal on the 55”! This TV is rated well on Rtings.com

Reason: updated retailer name
Thread Summary
  • Is this better than Amazon Omni? Yes
  • Hisense Roku > Hisense Google TV > Amazon Omni
  • Hisense vs Amazon worth the $200 difference? Yes if it’s your primary TV, no if using it for cottage, Airbnb, basement.
  • If outside price protection timeframe, buy and return the new one with old receipt to avoid creating e-waste since your current TV is fully functional.

way. more features, local dimming etc. Omni is 4 series or entry level, so bare bones.

To summarize based on discussions from the past threads:

This is a better TV.
Hisense Roku > Hisense Google TV > Amazon Omni

I just bought this 897.99-100 in April. The TV has been awesome, the only complaint I would have is it does not connect with bluetooth speakers lol highly recommend it for that price range.

Now the price is another 100 off, debating if I should return mine and rebuy it :/

It is already outside the 30 day price adjustment window, return and rebuy seem to be only choice :/

I’m in exactly the same boat. Bought mine in late April. I’m very happy with mine. With all I’ve read about the screen lotteries, for me it’s not worth the hassle.

Basically, I'm in no rush to buy and figuring out if I shall wait for black friday or this is best it can get for 65 inch screens..

ETA: disregard, totally wrong info.

You don't need to create more e-waste by returning your TV. Just buy a new one and return it unopened with your old receipt.

We have both the android (U68) and ROKU (U6GR) version of this TV. The Android has slightly better colours, better local dimming and Chromecast. Roku has faster software and Apple Airplay.

At the same price I would buy U68 and pair it with a separate Chromecast. But since Roku version is usually cheaper, I would recommend people buy that.

How come? Can you not use eArc hdmi? Bluetooth audio bad since it’s compressed.
