My Dad told me that Levi's makes lower quality and cheaper jeans specifically for Costco. Buyer beware.

I agree they are lower quality, I have a pair that is torn up.

Those are pretty baggy straight fits. Look at those cuffs; they cover more than half the guys shoes. So unless he has super small feet...

These are not as strechy as the denim or dark wash 514's.

I did not notice any easility identifiable signs of lower quality between the dark wash 514's from costco and the Levi's store.

I have a 505 and 514 from Costco and a 511 not from Costco (don't remember where I got it)

There are no major visible differences in quality (like you can't tell them apart just by seeing or touching it) but after using them, I noticed the Costco ones' bleed a lot more - I don't think it'd be a problem on this gray one, but if you're getting a regular blue (especially dark blue/dark wash) I'd suggest be careful wearing with lighter clothes, leather or stuff like that.

I was reading about soaking in vinegar and stuff, might give it a try as well. mines are OK after washing repeatedly but my wallet (light ochre leather) doesn't look so nice anymore
