I have a Lorex 1080p system from Costco for almost 6 years now and the only complaint that I have is that the video plug-in doesn't work with Win10 and the Android client Stratus has no update at all so I have to rely on a monitor directly connected to the NVR. I was considering an upgrade to this system. There is no review from Costco, but the hardware spec seems impressive for the price. Then I notice that there are different 4k systems from Costco with different NVR and cameras. This system is using an N841 series NVR and the Lorex Cloud android client which has some pretty bad reviews on Google Play. The other 4k system from Costco is using an LNR6100X NVR and the Lorex Home android client which is also badly reviewed. Personally, I think Lorex is pretty weak and messy in software development. For that reason, I have decided to pass. May consider the Reolink 5MP system if the price comes down again.

This is a decent deal but I found some negative things about this system. I bought it last year and decided to return it after a week.

When viewing the cameras live there is about a 4 second lag. I believe this is due to the weaker NVR just not being able to handle the multiple 4k streams. I also got a lot of motion blur during the night and overall night vision was pretty poor. The Lorex app is also pretty bad and is kind of a pain. On the positive side it was easy to install, day time recording was pretty smooth, and lastly the Costco return policy.

I've had terrible experience with their support team. Took me about 2 months and 10+ calls to get them to send me a new receiver when mine broke.

I’m looking to purchase a surveillance system but have no clue which brand/model/features to look for. Do you mind providing a link to the Reolink 5MP system? I saw a few on Amazon, but not sure which one.

About a week or a little less. Software can be set only to record motion or record everything and note the motion in the playback.

Some of the cameras are sensitive to the motion of moths to the small red lights on the cameras in the summer months,

This is the system I purchased and very happy with it so far, only 1 camera installed to date but hopefully get more done this weekend. The only complaint I have which may be user or all systems, is configuring the motion sensor alarms, I keep getting slammed with email alarms or if to low I miss alerts for people entering the driveway. Its like there is no sweet spot lol I got mine for $505 like new option on amazon but I see they don't have anymore at that price. You may need longer cable too as I did, had an 80 ft run but max cable included was 60ft

Here's a night footage from my reolink. Someone broke into my backyard last night. I think the picture quality is very similar to the lorex 4k cameras..

scroll to 3:16 mark
