I have a feeling this spring there's going to be shortages of bicycles.

I ordered a Giant bicycle in early Dec 2020, was suppose to come in early March, now pushed back to late April. Seems like anything coming from overseas is very slow. I asked last week what if I changed my mind and wanted a Giant City bike, they said I would be lucky if it comes in September of this year.

I've also bought a sofa last June 2020 and still waiting for it to arrive.

I met a guy last week that told me about these Costco bikes... just happened to log in today at 12:35pm and bought an XC00 because the XCF said unavailable - jeez, if I knew this was just posted 20 minutes earlier, I would have gone straight to the XCF and hit submit.

The fact that people are buying 4 or 5 of these in one shot is a bit of a d-bag move - especially if they're going to re-sell

There is an overall shortage of bicycles; lots of demand and limited supply.
Basically all bike stores could not get enough stock last summer to meet demand, both due to supply disruptions and more people idle/wanting to be able to do something during covid, like riding a bike.
Expect things to be similar this summer, though possibly a bit better.

Does anybody know which is a better buy the XCF or XC27? or are they both equally good, but just do different things?

XCF or XC00 = fat tire bike. No suspension as the fat tires absorb the bumps. Slow on pavement, really for riding over soft terrain, like sand, snow, mud due to the 4" low pressure tires.
XC27 or XC29 = mountain bike with 27.5" or 29" wheels, suspension. Generally more versatile.
