[Costco] Costco East: Chamberlain Garage Door Opener $239, limit 3, Feb warehouse flyer item

Reg $299 less $60 Jan 30 - Feb 26. max 3 units per customer.

$239 is an ATL for this gdo I believe.

This is 3/4 hp and will handle most if not all double doors. Even the older wood ones are ok too I think.

Max 3 units is funny for such an item.

This unit does NOT include the key pad to put outside the garage if anyone is wondering.

Some want to use same model for each door for multi unit garages

I think this is to avoid garage door companies or installers to buy it in bulk and resell. I have seen people bough a cart load of garage door openers before.

What type of doors we talking about? It should easily handle a double car sized door.

I was at Kirkham location on Monday and they have about 20. Up at the front of the aisle where they usually are. Next to the bread aisle,

no kidding. Installer will sell this for like $400+ which is the normal street price.
Its a very good price for a wifi led gdo. Even at $289, its the lowest price around I believe.

If an average sized human can lift the door, so can one of these.

The weight of the door is completely on the spring that the builder will install, and should be balanced.

nope. But if u have 2 single door, you only need 1 side to have backup anyway. Also u wont be able to open thru wifi if ur hydro is out, meaning u need either keypad or the remote to open the door anyway.

This isn't a strange question. I've been looking at this because I may build this year and have been looking at 9'x7' vs 9'x8' doors. Most garage door openers, including I believe this one, only come with tracks/rails for a 7' tall door. You have to purchase an extension to support an 8' tall door. Unfortunately the extensions are expensive.

You don't need a keypad or remote, all openers have a lockout option on the trolley (red rope) that allows you to manually open/close the door from the inside.

I heard there are some garage door openers that are installed at the side or something like that, and not in the middle of the garage ceiling, so you can essentially use that space to build an overhead storage area. What are those models called?

U have to check if u have enuf room on the side to do it. They are about double the price of a "normal" gdo and a much harder diy I heard (if thats ur intention)
